ATIR S.r.l.’s Robot Station was created to meet strong needs and requirements: automating the production processes performed manually or with small tools by its operatives, for the production of 3- or 4-core multi-core cables. An average of two metres long, they have stripped and twisted conductors on one end for connection to PCBs, and stripped and tinned conductors on the other. Thanks to its admission to the ERDF Regional Programme 2007-2013 (Priority 2 Activity II.2.1 – Tender for production investments for companies in the earthquake-affected area) call for entries, ATIR S.r.l. was able to bring the project to a successful and satisfactory conclusion. Creating this CUSTOM AUTOMATIC MACHINE was a significant commitment in terms of time, effort and financial resources.
The robot station was created by Felmec Group to our design, and is composed of the following sub-stations:
- Reel loading, with motorised unwinder system for lifting of heavy reels
- Cable cutting to size (minimum 50 cm)
- Removal of outer sheath on both ends or one end only
- Simultaneous stripping and twisting of 3 or 4 conductors on both ends or one end only
- Tinning of conductors on both ends or one end only
- Cutting of conductors to required length
- Release of the cable
